Dear ISSCT Members
We wish to inform you that a virtual meeting of the Executive Committee and TPC was held on Thursday 8 July 2021. The main discussion centered around the holding of the 2021-22 Workshops and the XXXI Congress scheduled for December 2022.
Taking into consideration the:
- High incidence of COVID-19 across continents
- Possible appearance of new variants
- Closure of borders
- Travel restrictions imposed by many countries and the necessity of undergoing quarantine upon arrival at destinations and upon return home
- Low registrations by our members to participate in our workshops owing to the preceding factors
it has been decided to postpone all workshops and possibly hold them within the XXXI Congress in December 2022.
A decision on whether the Congress itself will go ahead in December 2022 will be considered in October 2021 by the Executive Committee and TPC.
One outcome of the meeting was to trial webinars in different disciplines to keep our society active and allowing our members exchange of updated information on technical matters.
Further information will be communicated to you after the next meeting of Executive Committee and TPC scheduled for late October 2021.
