
The XXX ISSCT Congress was held in Tucumán, Argentina from 2 to 5 September 2019 and was attended by 738 delegates from some 45 countries. The Congress was preceded by the Pre-Congress Tour on 31 August and 1 September and followed by the Post-Congress from 6 to 8 September in Salta and Jujuy.

Communications of sections
302 Communications in all have been presented in the different Sections of the five Commissions during the week. There were 177 papers and 125 posters across the five Commissions of ISSCT including nine Plenary Sessions papers and six Workshops reports.
A shield was offered to the Senior Authors of the Best Papers. Certificates were awarded to Senior Authors and Co-Authors of the best papers of the 5 Commissions. Certificates were delivered Senior Authors and Co-Authors of the best posters.

2019 EARLY CAREER AWARD WINNER
Mr. Daniel Poultney from Réunion Island, France has won the 2019 Early Career Award and the prize is the sponsoring of his attendance to the next Agronomy Workshop.

Arrangements have been made with the four Journals: International Sugar Journal, Sugar Cane International, Sugar Journal (of New Orleans), Zucker Industrie and Sugar Tech to publish some communications selected by them in their forthcoming issues during the year.
